T1000 IN THE HOUSE
I was in a tea room cinema
in 60s Cape Town
when some time-traveling aliens
amongst those who had
brought their saucer
to 80s Joburg in
District 9
came in, ignoring the apartheid
separate amenities laws
then in existence,
demanding to be shown
the film Avatar
a film which would not be made
for another forty years.
During the hubbub that ensued
no one noticed a T-1000
liquid metal/polymorphic alloy
terminator
stalking me
for some reason it
was so crucial to the future
that I be eliminated
in order
that this poem
never get written
and once written
find its way into the hands of
Mr Blomkamp and Mr Cameron
