am holding my breath
am you
any planet
is you
I drowned in you
made love in you
feel your
ripples, your
tidal waves
am steeped
in your chemistry, your
mythologies
have swum your rivers
crossed your oceans
gone with the flow
broken ice, been
Spring in thaw
and your music
your music
what poetry
there
felt baptized, reborn
looked up
from below to
see the life-
warming Sun
our
life-warming Sun
your sense of depth
from surface to abyss
quite
unparalleled
(the creatures of our
unconscious
collected
in your dark deep
to feed the
imagination with
such fear)
Oh, sweet anomaly, most
promiscuous of all elements,
I live
and breathe
and yes, die,
at your behest, by your
determination
held, like all things, in
infinite memory, as if
in solution
even God
moving across your face
before
the very thought
of Creation
later to be
incarnate
under the truth, in
the size and shape of your most
expressive sign
